Managing the manager

Oh. How many times you think of your manager in a typical working day? Must be several times? whichever the industry you are in. All the times, you think of your boss as constraint to your work/progress? May be, mostly?. I believe everyone is aware of concept called " converting every opportunities as growth factors" Here when I say opportunity, it is what you need to work on. While working on that, you can create a positive trend in the org particularly with your boss. Trust me, Managing Boss is art. it depends on understanding his attitudes, hobbies, behavior, interaction and his/her friends and associates. Things will get complicated when you have multiple stakeholders. But you need to identify who is primary and who will impact more on your growth. That is where you need to use your efforts.
Some of the things which we can do for managing Boss is
1. Update Boss regularly
2. Tell Boss about things as if Boss does not know
3. Communicate the info which help Boss to think about environment
4. Maintain feel good factor
5. Finally, you need to appreciate boss, whether you like it or not
