Chief Information Officer to Chief Innovation Officer?

Organisations are having CIOs to manage their internal applications ranging from human resource systems, pay roll systems, vendor management systems, recruitments systems, internal appraisal systems etc..so basically CIO should get hold of all the things that required to control upon internal systems for an organisation. In the recent past so many changes are happening to the world of IT particularly in three areas. last few years, technologists were talking about Service Oriented Architecture to leverage the agility of re usability of services within an organisation. this year suddenly, three areas called Cloud Computing, Mobile Computing and Green Computing have become hot favourites to host of IT companies i.e. those provide services and consume services. Gartenr/Forresters  have provided predictions for these technologies. After all, product companies have to survive..right...that is why your CIO should aware what type of technology innovation is to adopted within your organisation based on financial viability, security and Governance parameters. He cannot depend on the reports and start implementing....is (s)he innovative to find out what is required...????..
